The dental GBP gap

Why dental GBP is your highest-leverage channel.

A patient searching for a dentist in Pakistan almost always ends up choosing from the Maps 3-pack. If your clinic isn't there (or it's there but unoptimized), you're invisible. And most dental clinics are unoptimized.

Most Pakistani dental clinics have the same five GBP symptoms: 1-2 categories activated out of 6+ available, fewer than 5 photos, last post over 6 months ago, no review request workflow, Q&A entirely empty. Each one of those is a ranking signal Google is reading as "this clinic isn't really active."

The result: when a patient searches "dentist DHA Phase 5" or "orthodontist Clifton," your clinic doesn't show up, even though you're geographically right there. Two other clinics with worse reviews and worse work but better GBP hygiene end up in the 3-pack. They get the call.

The fix is mostly mechanical. All 6+ relevant dental categories activated. Real photos uploaded. Weekly Posts cadence. Review request workflow your assistant can run in 30 seconds per patient. Q&A pre-emptively answered. Done consistently for 90 days, this is the work that builds toward stronger Maps 3-pack visibility.

The 6 dental categories that matter

Categories Pakistani patients actually search for.

Google offers 6+ dental categories. Each one captures a different patient search. Most clinics activate 1-2 and miss the rest. Below are the categories we wire on every dental GBP, and the searches each one ranks for.

01

Dentist

Primary · highest volume
Captures queries like
dentist near me dentist DHA Phase 5 best dentist Lahore
Almost every Pakistani dental GBP activates this. The baseline.
02

Orthodontist

Specialty · high LTV
Captures queries like
orthodontist Lahore braces near me invisalign Karachi
Few clinics activate this. If you do braces or aligners, missing it leaves the highest-ticket patient searches on the table.
03

Cosmetic dentist

Specialty · high LTV
Captures queries like
cosmetic dentist Karachi teeth whitening price veneers Lahore
Few clinics activate this, yet Pakistani cosmetic dental searches keep growing. Easy ranking opportunity.
04

Dental implants

Procedure · highest ticket
Captures queries like
dental implants Pakistan tooth implant cost Islamabad best implants near me
Rarely activated. Single highest-LTV dental search category. Pakistanis routinely spend PKR 80,000-250,000 per implant. These searches matter.
05

Periodontist

Specialty · referral-driven
Captures queries like
gum specialist Lahore gum disease treatment scaling and polishing
Rarely activated. Lower volume but very high intent. Often referred from general dentists who don't want to do the work.
06

Pediatric dentist

Demographic · parent-led
Captures queries like
kids dentist Karachi best dentist for children pediatric dental Islamabad
Rarely activated. Parent-search is slow but high-LTV. Once a family chooses you, they bring siblings and cousins for years.
What's included

Six things, every dental GBP, every month.

GBP isn't "set up once, walk away." Dental clinics that compound rankings are the ones that get all six right consistently.

All 6+ dental categories activated

General dentistry, orthodontist, cosmetic, dental implants, periodontist, pediatric (where applicable). Mapped to your actual procedures, no overclaiming.

Real clinic photos & description

15+ real photos: interior, exterior with shop board, dental chair (PMDC-compliant), team. 750-character description that ranks for procedure keywords without superlatives.

Weekly dental Posts

2-4 posts per month: procedure highlights, oral hygiene tips, holiday hours, team updates. PMDC-compliant, written for actual patient questions.

PMDC-compliant review workflow

One-tap review request your dental assistant sends after every appointment. Pre-written prompt that meets PMDC's "no clinical outcome claim" rules. With consistent use, a busy clinic can realistically add a fresh stream of reviews at this cadence.

Q&A pre-emptive answers

We monitor your GBP Q&A weekly. Pre-emptive answers to the dental questions patients keep asking: pricing ranges, procedure prep, insurance, walk-in policy.

Monthly GBP Insights report

One page. Profile views, search queries that found you, calls, direction requests, website clicks. We explain what's working and what to adjust, in plain English.

Our process

From unclaimed to fully optimized in 30 days.

Dental clinic questions

What dental clients ask us.

Five questions that come up on most dental GBP calls. If yours isn't here, WhatsApp us.

Will my dental GBP reviews stay PMDC-compliant?

Yes. Our review request prompt is structured to encourage experience-focused reviews, not clinical-outcome reviews. Patients describe how they were treated (the appointment, the staff, the explanations), not "Dr. X cured my X." If a patient writes a non-compliant review, we coach them privately on how to revise, and most do, because they want their words to actually be visible.

For reviews that violate PMDC even after coaching, we file Google takedown requests under "off-topic" or "violates Google's policies". Google's rules align with PMDC's on most clinical-claim issues.

Can I pick categories I don't actively offer?

No, and we won't help you do it even if you ask. Listing categories you don't actually offer creates two problems: patients arrive expecting a service you don't provide (negative reviews follow), and Google can flag the listing for misrepresentation, which damages ranking long-term.

The right play: activate categories for what you genuinely do, even if it's just 4 of 6. As you add procedures (or hire specialists), we add categories. Honesty here compounds.

How do you handle patient before/after photos?

Carefully. Patient photos require written consent, must be in PMDC-compliant format (no exaggerated lighting or post-processing, no "miracle outcome" framing), and we never publish identifying patient information. Most before/after photos belong on the website's procedure pages, not the GBP. GBP photos should focus on the clinic environment, equipment, team.

We provide the consent form template and review every patient photo before it goes anywhere public.

What if my dental GBP is already verified by an old web designer?

Common Pakistani problem. Old freelancer claimed your listing in 2018, set up basic info, got your password, and disappeared. Now you can't access the listing.

The fix: we file a Request ownership with Google. The current owner has 7 days to respond. If they don't (which is usually the case: they've ghosted, lost the email, etc.), Google transfers ownership to you. Process takes 2-3 weeks total. We handle them.

How long until reviews start compounding?

If your dental assistant uses the workflow consistently, a busy clinic with a steady front-desk routine can realistically add a fresh stream of new Google reviews each month. Pakistani dental patients are slightly more responsive than other healthcare niches because dental visits are routine: a satisfied patient sends the review same-day, while skin clinic patients sometimes wait until they "see results."

Over the first few months, as the review base grows, the GBP rating and ranking start to compound, but only if the link actually goes out after each appointment.
